General description
In SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180, a series of low-voltage units are connected together to construct the medium-voltage power output of the drive system. Using this topology, the driver can be precisely adjusted for a very wide range of voltage and output power. In addition, SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 has higher availability because it adopts a modular design and can bypass any unit during operation while maintaining the full output voltage.
In addition, the integrating transformer with phase-shifted secondary can provide 18 pulse or better input harmonic cancellation under any working conditions, and the power factor is higher than 0.95. This eliminates the need for input harmonic filters or power factor compensation, while completely avoiding any common mode voltage being applied to the motor.
The quality of the output voltage is very close to a perfect sine wave, so that almost any type of motor-new or old, low speed or high speed-can be operated without any additional pressure. Problems related to increased dU/dt, overheating, and torsional vibration are a thing of the past.

Designed to continue operation in the event of component failure, which completely disables traditional drives. The patented unit-based configuration maximizes availability and allows customers to determine the correct time to perform maintenance, while the modular design reduces system maintenance time to minutes.
The battery bypass option uses a redundant bypass control that is completely separate from each battery to ensure that the failed battery is automatically bypassed in 250 milliseconds or less (less than 1/2 second).
The optional process fault-tolerant protection system (ProToPS) combined with unit bypass supports the high reliability and availability of SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180. ProToPS provides a hierarchical warning system instead of tripping the drive and automatically shutting down the system due to a fault. This control strategy allows time to evaluate the situation and respond appropriately to avoid system shutdown.
