Rockwell Automation announces Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 6000 Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)

August 1, 2019 – Rockwell Automation announced that the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 6000 Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is now available in a smaller footprint to help save floor space in industrial plants.

This drive works \ retrofit opportunities where the drive must fit into an existing space. It is applied in fan and pump applications in industries such as oil and gas, mining and water/wastewater.

The general-purpose VFD offers the same reliability as the original drive, but in three smaller frame sizes. It is intended to help meet technical expectations and enhance personnel safety. The drive is available in configurations ranging from 2.4 to 4.16 kV and 0 to 215 A.

The design allows users to receive the drive in one shipment with secondary windings already connected. In addition, no rear access is required..

Like all PowerFlex 6000 VFDs, the smaller drive has synchronous bypass capabilities. This allows users to operate one motor continuously with variable speed control or to start and synchronize multiple motors using only one drive. It also allows users to soft start large motors.
