SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY Medium voltage converters - Product Bulletin: GH180 air-cooled 6SR420, 9/12/15 Cell, 500/660 A and GH180 air-cooled 6SR420, 9/12 Cell, 315/375 A

The SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 6SR320 Drive (formally known as GenIIIe) was introduced to the market in 2003 and is still currently built in five manufacturing locations around the world.

To have a common platform similar to the GH180 6SR4_0 product line, SIEMENS Process Industries and Drives (PD) released the GH180 6SR420, 9/12/15 Cell, 500/660/750 A Drive and GH180 6SR420, 9/12 Cell, 315/375 A Drive.

As the industry grows, the overall real estate where their sites are located require more stringent  requirements when it comes to footprint.  Space constraints whether mining, pumping oil or deep-water drilling are very much a concern. 

To continue to support the industry, SIEMENS redesigned the SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR320 product line to be 15% to 35% more compact.  The new streamlined design offers enhanced Drive and cell reliability while maintaining the performance as before, but within a smaller footprint that is more versatile and cost-efficient.

Product Description

The SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR420, 9/12/15 Cell, 500/660 A Drive and 6SR420, 9/12 Cell, 315/375 A Drive has all the features as the 6SR320 Drive but with 750 V power cells.  Therefore, a lesser number of power cells can be used to achieve higher output voltages on certain configurations.

The 6SR320, 9/12/15/181)  Cell, 500/660/720 A (formally GenIIIe) will be replaced by 6SR420, 9/12/15/181)  Cell, 500/660/7501)  A (GenIVe)

The 6SR320, 9/12  Cell, 315/375 A (formally GenIIIe) will be replaced by 6SR420, 9/12 Cell, 315/375 A (GenIV, Phase 6 )

2) Output power de-rating required for -5 to -10% voltage tolerances

3) De-rating required for 168 to 330 Hz and below 10Hz
