SIEMENS Large Drives Industrial Applications (LD AP) is expanding the medium voltage air-cooled Drive product line by offering the new SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR460 Floating Platform (FP) Drive.  This will be available as a standard option code effective November 2014.  With decades of experience and a large number of installed Drives at customer sites, the SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR460 Floating Platform Drive is specifically designed for floating platform applications in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Few industrial operating environments are as hostile and unforgiving as offshore oil and gas production. Equipment must withstand stringent motion requirements and harsh ambient conditions with space constraints. All this is especially true for floating platforms, which are also subject to the nonstop pitch and roll from the surrounding seas. Extreme waves and ocean currents cause significant lateral and vertical forces that on-board machinery must be able to withstand.

Some of the most common applications on Floating Platforms are electrical submersible pumps (ESP) which are located at the sea bottom.  ESP applications have extremely long cables lengths between the Drives and sea-floor motors which introduce challenges that can be minimized by using the new SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 Floating Platform Drive.

SIEMENS used the proven SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR4_0 Drive 12 cell design and increased the structural and mechanical properties to meet stringent environmental conditions.  SIEMENS continues the innovation of the medium voltage Drive product line to offer greater versatility and handle unique applications.

Product Description

The SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 air-cooled 6SR460 (FP) uses the standard GH180 air-cooled Drive with 12 cells and 750 V power cells.  

All products of the SINAMICS PERFECT HARMONY GH180 product line share the same high performance characteristics however the GH180 air-cooled 6SR460 (FP) Drive provides additional features.
